A beautiful night was had at the last Gig in a Gallery event at Canvas art gallery in Wimbledon Village. The room, filled with brilliant contemporary art pieces, fell silent and felt intimate during performances firstly from Malory Torr and then from me.

On hand to give his experience of visiting the rubbish dumps in Cambodia and witnessing the lives of people on them (the cause to which Small Steps Project is dedicated) was local philanthropist John Mager of the True Volunteer Foundation who, by chance, had accepted an invite from a friend to attend the concert.

Un-phased by lack of prior preparation, John very kindly spoke to the audience of his visit to these dumps and told of what he witnessed, further sending attendees home with the true meaning and purpose of Gig in a Gallery.

Huge thanks to Canvas, local bar Hemingways, Karine Torr of Darling Magazine, The Wimbledon Print Company and to local estate agents, Moss & Co. for being so supportive of the event. The amount raised thus far stands at £557.00, as can be seen on the JustGiving page.
