A fabulous launch party concert was had last month to celebrate the upcoming release of these new recordings but the party is far from over. Other performances are being planned around the time of release in March, and beyond. Pre-order your limited edition copy via my campaign via Pledge Music to be sure to get your very own signed and well in advance of the date the record will go on sale.
Sorry for the silence over the last few months but it has been a busy time. After recording, there’s been mixing, mastering and photo shoots to get done and of course there’s a special launch party to plan too. I’m looking forward to sharing it all with you in good time. The launch party happens on Monday 19 October. No tickets will be sold on the door, they can only be purchased in advance via Billetto so get booking.
It was really good to chat with Gaby on her show last weekend and to perform live. Mention of course was made of the impending EP release and with Ross Lorraine on piano we performed two songs which will appear on the EP – Live Again and Troubled and one other called The Unexplained. Feel free to listen in by hovering over my logo above and clicking the play button.
Yes, I have been recording again. It felt really good to make a return to north London’s studio, The Cowshed, to create music after the 3 years since my first release. Just a few songs have been recorded acoustically and as live for the new EP, release date for which is to be confirmed. A very special launch party is being organised, however you’ll need to join the mailing list to get full details on this as it’s a bit of a secret bash for special invitees. Do join me on this journey. Think it’s going to be fun and I’m really looking forward to sharing these new recordings with you.
Almost three years since the release of Day Dawns, it is pretty exciting to find myself back at The Cowshed studio in north London recording songs for my upcoming EP. Featuring the nimble fingers and talents of guitarist Tom Gamble – and pianist Arthur Lea – some of the songs to be presented on the EP will be newer and some will be reinterpretations of songs that featured on my 2012 release. A crowdfunding campaign is to be started soon so stay tooned if you fancy supporting that. There’ll also be a secret launch party to come so sign-up to the mailing list for updates on that.
A joyous time was had by my band and I at the Cheltenham Jazz Festival on bank holiday Monday. Playing to a full room on the Jazz Arena stage, the audience was warm and welcoming and I was thriving on the buzz in the air. Lovely to meet so many audience members after the concert too. A big thank you if you came.
Having performed on the Fringe stage of this grand Festival last year, I’m really pleased that I’ve been asked to return this year but this time gracing the Jazz Arena stage. I’ll be with full band too so quite a performance is planned. All details, and ticket information, can be found here.
Always enjoy performing at The Pheasantry in Chelsea so I’m looking forward to a return to this Chelsea venue at the end of February. Singer/songwriter, Vincent Burke performs an opening set before I’ll be superbly accompanied by pianist Arthur Lea and Nick Pini on bass. Booking is a must and for more info, click on this link.
A year after my first performance within this wonderful space, I returned there again last Friday with pianist Arthur Lea, surrounded by yet more grand paintings and a beautifully warm audience. Friend, music lover and supporter Mike Watts was on hand with camera to capture the atmosphere. You can see some of his photographs via the Facebook page.
Very pleased to have been asked to add my vocals to a charity single for Help for Heroes which released at the end of November. “I Wonder Where He Is Now”. Performed by Gary Chilton of “The Soldiers,” the group that captured the Nation’s hearts as the singing trio of full time serving officers of the British Army, the song was written by Adrian Warwick, Mark Young and Mark Wickenden and is now a contender for the Christmas No.1 spot and can be purchased in store or downloaded from i-tunes.
