I learned of the Small Steps Project in late 2012. Listening to the radio while driving one cold bleary December day, I was drawn to the stories described by Small Steps Project founder, Amy Hanson, who talked of children and families she’d come across in Cambodia who were living and feeding from municipal rubbish tips.
On arriving back home, I read more about the charity online and began wondering what I could do to help. Some weeks later the concept of Gig in a Gallery was born. Combining my desire to put on concerts in art gallery spaces with raising money for Small Steps, the idea seemed like a perfect way to fundraise while also connecting with others through my love of music and performing.
I perform on each of the gallery gigs alongside a guitarist but also featured is a different special guest artist at every event. Click on the “Details” tab below to be directed to the Gig In A Gallery ticketing page from where further information about the concerts can be viewed and from where all tickets can be purchased.
Please watch the video below to learn more about Small Steps Project and what they do. From this you’ll see what inspired me to start this project and I hope it’ll encourage you to donate and/or to come along to a gig too. 100% of all money raised from ticket sales will go directly to Small Steps Project.
If you can’t make a gallery gig date but would like to make a donation to Small Steps Project, do so via the Gig in a Gallery page on the Just Giving website or else text your donation amount to 70070 followed by this code GIAG77
Be An Angel
Gig in a Gallery runs on the support of the galleries, businesses and individuals who sponsor the concerts. This ensures that all money raised from the ticket sales go to Small Steps Project. If you would like to find out how you can support the work of Gig in a Gallery, please get in touch.
